Number of strands: 10 (each gauge measures 10cm long)
Measurement of clearances by compression.
Red Version for a clearance range between 0.025 mm – 0.175 mm (0.001" - 0.007").
Plastigauge (plastigage) is widely used in measuring the clearance of automotive plain bearings.
Precision gauge for measuring the operational clearance between fitted surfaces. It is particularly useful for measuring clearances in split bearings or in situations where a feeler gauge cannot be inserted.
Can be used to detect high spots in cylinder heads, pipe flanges, etc.
It is useful in production, inspection, and maintenance.
Simple and quick to use.
Sufficient pouch for a 4 to 6 cylinder engine
Operation:
- Compress a small amount of wax-like substance between the bearing shell and the crankshaft journal or between the connecting rod cap and the crankpin.
- Then remove the bearing shell,
- The wax-like substance should be compressed.
- To measure the clearance, you then take the provided gauge and match it to determine the clearance measurement.
