The Versions of the Renault 5
The Renault 5 will undergo numerous evolutions, but it is the 1976 model with its 1300 engine that will be the most sold. That same year, Renault released the R5 Alpine with its 1400 engine and 93 hp and starting in 1979, a 5-door version arrived. In 1981, Alpine offered 110 hp to the R5, and the R5 Turbo appeared with its engine placed inside the cabin; it's a real rally car that was marketed. Between 1974 and 1983, the Renault 5 was the best-selling car in France every year! In total, 5,580,000 units were produced.
