Parts for your classic Renault R 15 by Alépoc

The Renault 15 is the brand's first coupe since the Renault Floride and Renault Caravelle. Released in 1971, it was complemented by the R17, which shares part of its design, except for the rear windows and headlights. It is derived from the Renault 12 and logically shares the same technology: a front-engine traction.

Two engines are offered: the Renault 15 TL receives the Cléon cast iron engine 1289 cm³ from the R12, which develops 60 hp, while the Renault 15 TS uses (like the R17 TL) the Cléon aluminum engine of 1565 cm³ from the Renault 16 TS and its 90 hp. The power outputs are slightly increased to give a sporty aspect to the car.

The New Comfort of the Renault R 15

Unlike many coupes of the time, the Renault 15 is as easy to drive as a normal sedan. It has other advantages such as relatively spacious rear seats and affordable prices, especially in the TL versions.
Restyled in 1976 both at the front and rear, the Renault 15 also received “petal” seats offering 4 adjustable cushions for better ergonomics and comfort. It was much more sold than the R17, particularly the TL. 209,887 units were produced by 1979 when it was discontinued. The R17 sold only 94,969 units!
The Renault 15 are thus visible in the classic car world without being very common. They are simple and practical cars whose restoration will not pose any major problems, especially with the parts we offer you:
