Red version for clearances between 0.025 mm and 0.175 mm (0.001" - 0.007").

Plastigauge (plastic-coated) is widely used for measuring clearance in automotive plain bearings.

Precision gauge for measuring operating clearance between fitted surfaces. It is particularly useful for measuring clearances in two-piece bearing housings or in situations where a feeler gauge cannot be inserted.

Can be used to detect high spots in cylinder heads, pipe flanges, etc.

It is useful in production, inspection, and maintenance.

Set includes enough gauges for a 4- to 6-cylinder engine

Instructions:

• Squeeze a small amount of wax-like substance between the bearing shell and the crankshaft journal or between the connecting rod head and the crankpin.
• Then remove the bearing shell;
• The wax-like substance should be squished.
• To measure the clearance, use the gauge provided and align it to determine the clearance measurement.
